Achievements Guide

If you’re playing on Xbox 360 as I am, there is a total of 45 achievements to be unlocked throughout the game. Some achievements are unlocked automatically, others you must work to earn. Here is each achievement, in alphabetical order, a description, and if needed, an explanation on how to unlock it. I’ve added an asterisk in front of the ones that are automatically unlocked during a certain point in the game, along with links to the level walkthroughs I’ve posted for certain achievements.

Alter Ego: Perform all big Lego figure transformations. There are five characters you must transform into in order to get this achievement, and be sure you’ve transformed from their regular version to their “large” version: Hulk, Red Hulk, Venom, Curt Connors/Lizard, and Stan Lee. — 20 G

Avengers Assembled: Collect all Avengers characters. This includes Iron Man (Marks 1, 6, 7, 42), Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Agent Coulson. — 50 G

Bad Luck?: Unlock Black Cat. Near the icon for Taking Liberties, you’ll find a shop with a grappling point on the door. Pull it down, go inside, use a character with super senses, then pull the lever for the Black Cat character token. After unlocking her, you must also purchase her to earn this achievement. — 20 G

*Bifrosty Reception: Complete Level 7: Bifrosty Reception. — 20 G

Billionaire Philanthropist: Collect 1,000,000,000 studs. After unlocking the stud multiplier Deadpool Bricks, you can turn these on and walk around New York City for a while, and you’ll get the achievement eventually. It also helps if you have the Stud Magnet brick as well. — 40 G

Brotherhood: Collect all traditionally evil mutants. This includes Sabretooth, Pyro, Juggernaut, Mastermind, Mystique, Magneto, Magneto Acolyte, Toad, and Blob. — 20 G

Can’t Hurt Me Bub: Regenerate as Wolverine. When playing as Wolverine, allow enemies to repeatedly hit you until you die. You will then regenerate, earning you this achievement. — 10 G

Cosplay: Create a custom character. This can be easily done by going to the medical bay in the Helicarrier (go left from the main control room, go straight the whole way down the hallway, then go right), hitting the edit button on any preset, and changing one thing about them. — 20 G

*Doctor in the House: Complete Level 9: Doctor in the House. — 20 G

Don’t I Know You?: In co-op, team up Captain America with Human Torch. This is the only achievement in the game that requires co-op to complete, but if you have two controllers, you can easily get it by yourself as well. — 20 G

*A Doom with a View: Complete Level 14: A Doom with a View. — 20 G

*Exploratory Laboratory: Complete Level 3: Exploratory Laboratory. — 20 G

*Falling… With Style: Complete your first Helicarrier skydive. In between the levels Sand Central Station and Times Square Off, you’ll be told to skydive off of the Helicarrier using Mister Fantastic and Captain America. If you’re playing co-op or online, the achievement may be missed, but skydiving at another point in time when playing single player will unlock the achievement. — 20 G

Fastball Special: Perform a special throwing move as Colossus on Wolverine. Switch one of your characters to Colossus and the other to Wolverine, and fight Wolverine with Colossus to earn this achievement.– 20 G

*The Good, the Bad, and the Hungry: Complete Level 15: The Good, the Bad, and the Hungry. — 20 G

Guardians of the Galaxy: Unlock all Guardians of the Galaxy. This includes Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Ronan the Accuser, and Nova. — 20 G

I Am Iron Man: Collect all Iron Man armors. These armors include Iron Man (Mark 1), Iron Man (Mark 6), Iron Man (Mark 7), Iron Man (Mark 42), and Iron Man (Heartbreaker). You must purchase them at a Helicarrier call-in point, and not just unlock them, for the achievement to appear.  — 20 G

I’m Always Angry!: Transform into the Hulk 50 times. This one is more tedious than difficult. You learn how to transform from the Hulk to Bruce Banner and back in the very first level; use this knowledge to earn the achievement. — 20 G

It’s Clobberin’ Time!: Defeat 100 enemies as the Thing. I got this achievement by playing as the Thing anytime he was available during story mode, but if you’ve completed story mode and still need this achievement, I’d recommend replaying Doctor in the House. There is a part in the level where you’re told to switch to Human Torch, and if you don’t switch right away, you’ll be attacked by enemies nonstop, allowing you to earn the achievement. — 20 G

It’s Me Time!: Read a comic in Deadpool’s room on the Helicarrier. Comics are unlocked after getting all ten Minikit Canisters for any level. After you’ve done that, go into the Helicarrier and through the door on the left. Partway down the hallway on the right is Deadpool’s room, and you can access comics on the right side of the room. — 20 G

*Juggernauts and Crosses: Complete Level 8: Juggernauts and Crosses. — 20 G

*Magnetic Personality: Complete Level 13: Magnetic Personality. — 20 G

Menace of Magneto: Drive to the Baxter Building as Magneto in the Magneto Mobile. After unlocking both Magneto and the Magneto Mobile, find a Helicarrier call-in point that allows Magneto to enter the vehicle. The Baxter Building is found near the Fantastic Four logo on the map. — 20 G

*Post-Credit Party: Complete House Party Protocol. This is a bonus level, unlocked just after completing story mode. — 50 G

Puny God: Perform Hulk’s special move on Loki. In free play, co-op, or just while roaming the map, use Hulk and repeatedly attack Loki. Eventually Hulk will smash Loki into the ground a few times, earning you this achievement. — 20 G

*Rapturous Rise: Complete Level 12: Rapturous Rise. — 20 G

Really?: Collect Howard the Duck. Howard the Duck is unlocked after completing the bonus level Nuff Said, and can then be purchased for 25,000 studs to unlock this achievement. — 10 G

*Rebooted, Resuited: Complete Level 5: Rebooted, Resuited. — 20 G

*Red Head Detention: Complete Level 6: Red Head Detention. — 20 G

Road Rage: Destroy 100 vehicles in the Manhattan hub. This one actually isn’t as difficult as it may seem. You’ve probably already destroyed some vehicles while getting collectibles, whether you realize it or not. To get this achievement, I found it easiest to switch to a large character such as the Thing and just smash some cars. — 20 G

*Rock Up at the Lock Up: Complete Level 4: Rock Up at the Lock Up. — 20 G

*Sand Central Station: Complete Level 1: Sand Central Station. — 20 G

Sinister Six: Collect Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, Electro, and Vulture. Except for Kraven the Hunter, all of these characters are unlocked either in story mode or during a bonus mission. — 20 G

Stan’s Soapbox: Turn into Stan Hulk. After unlocking Stan Lee as a playable character, do the same thing you would do to transform into the Hulk as Bruce Banner to earn this achievement.– 20 G

Stan-tastic: Rescue Stan Lee from every peril. Stan Lee is in peril once in each of the main story levels, bonus levels, and once in between levels. The rest of these can be found while exploring New York City. — 30 G

*Taking Liberties: Complete Level 11: Taking Liberties. — 20 G

*That Sinking Feeling: Complete Level 10: That Sinking Feeling. — 20 G

This Is Fantastic!: Turn Mister Fantastic into a teapot for the first time. When playing as Mister Fantastic, press B to turn into a teapot. — 20 G

*Times Square Off: Complete Level 2: Times Square Off. — 20 G

To Me, My X-Men: Collect all traditionally heroic mutants. This includes Wolverine, Wolverine (Cowl), Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, Iceman, Colossus, Archangel, Professor Xavier, Psylocke, Polaris, Gambit, and Havok. — 20 G

The Toast of Croydon: Create a character called “Trevor” in the character customizer. Similar to the achievement “Cosplay,” go to the medical bay on the Helicarrier and hit the edit button. Change the name to Trevor and the achievement will unlock. — 20 G

Ultimate True Believer: Unlock all True Believers. True Believers are unlocked in story mode levels and bonus levels. — 20 G

*Welcome to Level 7: Play as Agent Coulson. This achievement is automatically unlocked after starting the bonus level Tabloid Tidy Up. — 20 G

You Win a No-Prize!: Complete the game to 100%. After completing all levels and bonus levels, earning all of the game’s Gold Bricks and Stan Lee In Perils, and unlocking and buying all of the characters, vehicles, and Deadpool Bricks, you should earn this achievement. — 40 G

Zoo Believer: Unlock all animal-themed characters. This includes Spider-Man, Spider-Man (F.F.), Black Widow, Doctor Octopus, Doctor Octopus (Ultimate), Wolverine, Wolverine (Cowl), Beast, Sabretooth, Rhino, Ant-Man, Black Cat, Howard the Duck, Phoenix, Black Panther, Vulture, Beetle, Toad, Squirrel Girl, Wasp, Viper, Phoenix, and Rocket Raccoon.  — 30 G

Character Guide (First Draft)

Similar to my character guide for Lego Star Wars: TCS, I’ll be posting this character guide for Lego Marvel Super Heroes before I begin posting walkthroughs of any of the levels. This will clarify any types of characters I mention and just make it overall easier for you. Since this is a first draft, I’ll only have character types and descriptions, but I’ll update this guide later on so that it also contains a list of each character’s abilities. So, for now, these names and ability descriptions will get you through my guides just fine.

Here are the main abilities you’ll use throughout the game, along with the main characters you will play as throughout Story Mode that has each ability.

Agility: Characters with this ability can swing on poles or arrows. (Spider-Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Wolverine, Beast)

Claws: Characters with this ability can activate the claw switches that are found throughout the game. (Wolverine, Beast)

Climbing: These are characters who can climb walls. (Spider-Man, Wolverine, Beast)

Digging: This mainly applies to animal-like characters who can be used on digging spots on the ground. (Wolverine, Beast)

Electricity: Characters can use electricity powers to charge up things and gain progress in levels. (Thor, Storm)

Explosives: Some characters can throw explosives that are needed to move on in some levels. (Iron Man, Hawkeye)

Extinguishing: Certain characters can use other abilities they have to put out fires. (Captain America, Storm)

Fire/Heat: These characters can cut around or destroy gold objects. (Human Torch, Cyclops)

Flight: This ability is exactly how it sounds: characters with the ability to fly. Characters who can hover, such as Storm and Jean Grey, don’t apply to this category, since they can’t raise or lower themselves as is needed for flying characters. (Iron Man, Spider-Man [web], Human Torch, Thor)

Grappling: I wasn’t really sure what else to call this ability, since it varies between characters. Basically, this is the ability to latch onto things and pull, like Spider-Man can do with his web and Hawkeye can with his arrows. (Spider-Man, Mister Fantastic, Hawkeye)

Hacking: Certain characters can break into computers. (Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Black Widow, Beast)

Ice: These characters can freeze people or objects and put out fires. (Iceman)

Invisibility: Some characters can make themselves invisible or appear invisible to fool security cameras. (Black Widow, Invisible Woman)

Magnetism: Sometimes characters with magnetic abilities are needed to activate certain objects. (Magneto)

Mind Control: Mind Control characters can occasionally control other characters and have them perform tasks for them. (Jean Grey)

Power Cosmic: Like the magnetism ability, characters with this ability can activate objects that would be inaccessible otherwise. (Galactus)

Super Senses: The Super Senses ability can be activated only at certain points in the game. It will allow you to perform or notice things that others cannot. (Spider-Man, Wolverine, Beast)

Super Strength: This mainly applies to the larger characters. With Super Strength, you’ll be able to pull green handles and throw larger objects. (Hulk, Thing)

Telekinesis: Telekinetic characters can activate objects that others wouldn’t be able to. Many telekinetic characters can also create a force field to prevent themselves from being hurt. (Jean Grey, Invisible Woman)

Teleportation: Not all characters with this ability teleport, but some do. This is the ability to squeeze through bars or teleport across. (Mister Fantastic, Loki)
