Category Archives: Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7
Throughout the level walkthroughs of Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, I mentioned needing certain characters to complete a level with all collectibles unlocked (ex. strong character, book character, etc.). Here, I’ve provided a full list of the types of characters mentioned and their abilities, along with a list of every character in the game and what categories they fit into.
Types of Characters
Regular Wizards have access to all main spells (Wingardium Leviosa [pink], Diffindo [red], Lumos [white], Aguamenti [blue], Expecto Patronum [white], and Reducto [orange]); therefore, they are needed for pretty much everything in the game.
Dark Wizards have access to all of the same spells as Regular Wizards, along with two others. Crucio appears with Wingardium Leviosa and works in the same way; however, the objects will glow red instead of pink if a Dark Wizard is needed. Their other spell, Avada Kedavra, can be used to kill minor enemies such as Death Eaters, Red Caps, and Acromantulas with a single shot.
Digging Characters are used to dig up spots on the ground with paw prints. They are usually either Animagi or pets that appear along with other characters (ex. Crookshanks, who can only be accessed through variants of Hermione), with the exception of Fang, who appears alone as a character.
Animagi (singular Animagus) are wizards who can transform into animals. Remus Lupin and Fenrir Greyback, although technically not Animagi, are included in this category. Although very inaccurate, I often use this term to refer to animals who can crawl through tunnels. (Sorry!)
Goblins are normally the only characters who can open vaults with a key; however, a new character called Mrs. Cole can open vaults as well, so she is also included with these characters despite being a Muggle. (After looking back at some of my old posts, I noticed that I occasionally referred to Goblins as Key Characters. Just a little reminder here that they are the same thing.)
Weasleys are, simple enough, members of the Weasley family. They get their own category simply because they are the only characters who can access Weasley boxes.
Strong Characters have the ability to pull orange handles found attached to numerous things throughout the game. Occasionally you can make a strength potion as an alternative to using a Strong Character, if the materials are present.
There is only one Bag Character, but for some reason, I didn’t just write “Hermione” in my walkthroughs. She can use her bottomless purse in areas marked with a pink plate on the ground, thus making her a Bag Character.
Similar to Hermione being the only Bag Character, Ron is the only Deluminator Character. When you see a lantern that seems to sparkle, that’s your indication that a Deluminator Character is needed. Where most characters would have the spell Lumos, Ron has the Deluminator– an object used to move light between lanterns in the game.
And, another live the previous two, Arthur Weasley is the only Mechanic character. If you see a vehicle or object that seems to emit blue sparks, this character is needed to fix it.
Book Characters are the only characters who can open bookcases with four symbols on them.
Parselmouths are very similar to Book Characters, although they can only solve puzzles with four different colored S’s. Although not a Parselmouth, variants of Ron can also be used to solve these puzzles. (This is a reference to the final book/movie in the series, when Ron fakes Parseltongue to open the Chamber of Secrets.)
If only one type of a character is listed, only that character fits into the category. Also, if a character has access to another character, they will be in parentheses (ex. Hermione (Crookshanks)). If a character’s name under the Digging Character and Strong Character categories is italicized, it means they only have that ability while transformed (used for Animagi and werewolves).

In total, there are 24 Red Bricks in the game. Four of these are already unlocked as you begin and only have to be purchased (Advanced Guide, Carrot Wands, Comedy Specs, and Disguise), while the other twenty must be found on your own as you explore Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and all of the other various places found in the game. After finding a Red Brick, you must carry it to an owl that sits on a red stand in order to unlock it. Then, you must go to the upstairs of the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley to purchase it. Now you’ll be able to turn it on or off in the Extras section of the start menu. If you’ve unlocked a Red Brick but haven’t purchased it, the name will appear, followed by “Available to buy.” And, finally, if you haven’t unlocked a Red Brick yet, it will just show up as “Red Brick (insert number): Locked.”
Similar to my Power Brick guide for Lego Star Wars: TCS, this guide includes information about what each Red Brick does and how it’ll help you in the game.
Advanced Guide***: In this post about the differences between Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Years 5-7, the first thing I mentioned was the feature that appears above Sir Nicholas’s head that shows what collectibles are found in the area, and how many of each. However, this feature is only available after your first completion of story mode. To make this feature available before then, you’ll need to purchase this Red Brick.
Carrot Wands*: Changes all characters’ wands into carrots. (Unlike the similar Power Brick in Lego Star Wars: TCS, characters will still be able to use their wands.)
Character Studs**: After killing an enemy (not a boss) such as a Death Eater or Red Cap, you will be awarded with studs.
Character Token Detector***: Detects character tokens during levels or while freely roaming the map.
Christmas*: Gives all characters Santa hats.
Collect Ghost Studs**: Allows you to collect the coins that Sir Nicholas leaves behind while guiding you around the map.
Comedy Specs*: Changes Spectrespecs into gag glasses.
Disguise*: Gives all characters glasses/fake nose/mustache.
Extra Hearts****: Adds two extra hearts to your health.
Fall Rescue****: Automatically has your “buddy” character levitate you back up if you accidentally fall over the side of an area that would kill you.
Fast Dig****: Allows digging characters to dig faster.
Fast Magic****: Allows you to assemble pieces faster.
Gold Brick Detector***: Detects Gold Bricks during non-level gameplay.
Hogwarts Crest Detector***: Detects Hogwarts Crest pieces during levels.
Invincibility****: Makes you invincible.
Red Brick Detector***: Detects Red Bricks while freely roaming the map.
Regenerate Hearts****: Hearts regenerate every few seconds.
Score x2**: Every stud you get counts as twice that amount. (Ex. if you collect a blue stud, it’ll be worth 2000 instead of 1000.) (Combining score multipliers will multiply those too– ex. turning on Score x2 and Score x10 will give you a x20 multiplier.)
Score x4**: Every stud you get counts as four times that amount. (Ex. if you collect a blue stud, it’ll be worth 4000 instead of 1000.) (Combining score multipliers will multiply those too– ex. turning on Score x4 and Score x10 will give you a x40 multiplier.)
Score x6**: Every stud you get counts as six times that amount. (Ex. if you collect a blue stud, it’ll be worth 6000 instead of 1000.) (Combining score multipliers will multiply those too– ex. turning on Score x6 and Score x10 will give you a x60 multiplier.)
Score x8**: Every stud you get counts as eight times that amount. (Ex. if you collect a blue stud, it’ll be worth 8000 instead of 1000.) (Combining score multipliers will multiply those too– ex. turning on Score x8 and Score x10 will give you a x80 multiplier.)
Score x10**: Every stud you get counts as ten times that amount. (Ex. if you collect a blue stud, it’ll be worth 10,000 instead of 1000.) (Combining score multipliers will multiply those too– ex. turning on Score x2, Score x4, Score x6, Score x8, and Score x10 will give you a x3840 multiplier.)
Stud Magnet**: Exactly how it sounds– if you’re walking near a pile of studs, they will be pulled to you like a magnet. However, this does not work long range.
Super Strength***: Gives every character the ability of a strong character or strength potion.
*Just for fun extras: do nothing but change appearance or trivial ability.
**Stud extras: help improve your stud count.
***Collectible extras: help you get other collectibles (character tokens, Gold Bricks, Students In Peril) more easily during free play.
****Other useful extras: generally help you during gameplay.
All Non-Story Collectibles (Character Tokens, Gold Bricks, Red Bricks, Students in Peril) – Arranged by Location
(My apologies for the accidental publish of this post on 6/18. I tried to take it down as soon as it went up, as the guide was nowhere near complete, but it may have still caused you guys some issues.)
Throughout the game, you have the chance to explore all sorts of places to earn character tokens and Students In Peril that you won’t find within the levels, along with Gold Bricks and Red Bricks. There are, in total, 20 Red Bricks, all found while exploring on your own; 60 Students In Peril– 24 found within the levels in story mode, and 36 found on your own; and 200 character tokens– three found in each level (72), and the rest found on your own. There are also 200 Gold Bricks– one for each level completed (24), one for each level completed with True Wizard (24), one for each Hogwarts Crest completed (24), one for each Student In Peril located (60), one for each lesson completed during story mode (14), sixteen more that can be purchased in Borgin and Burkes, one for completing the bonus level found at Borgin and Burkes, and the rest (37) found on your own.
(Don’t forget to play the bonus level in Borgin and Burkes for your last Gold Brick, and once you’ve got all 200, go to the upstairs of the Leaky Cauldron to build a Hogwarts replica that shoots out gold studs! This can easily help you get the studs you need to purchase Red Bricks, characters, or spells– especially if you turn on your Stud Magnet and multiplier Red Bricks!)
So, here it is: every collectible in the game that isn’t found in story mode, arranged alphabetically by location. Also, since not all of the areas are “officially” named, I’ve included directions to let you know where certain areas are. I started in Diagon Alley and its buildings and worked my way around from there, so it may be easier to follow my path than just go in alphabetical order like I’ve arranged this. (If that sounds confusing, don’t worry– it should make sense when you start the guide.) Hope this guide helps you get to 100% completion!
There are five candles in the room to activate with Dark Magic– one on your right as you enter, one by the painting on the left, one next to the bookcase, and two on the right side. This will cause the Red Brick to appear in the middle of the room; carry it to the owl on the left for the Red Brick – Fast Magic.
Open the vault on the right for some pieces, then assemble them. Use a variant of Ron to move the light into the Deluminator and over to the painting, and the man inside will toss you the character token for Professor McGonagall.
Shoot the telescope on your left as you enter for the Antonin Dolohov character token.
Destroy the red globe on the left with Diffindo for the Grindelwald (Old) character token.
Solve the Parseltongue puzzle in the very back of the room to save the Student In Peril.
Use a book character on the bookcase for the character token for Grindelwald (Young).
Inside of the tent, use Dark Magic on the chest in the back left corner for a Gold Brick.
Go to the right side and use a Deluminator character to trap the light, then go to the back middle area and release the light to free a Student In Peril from some vines.
Use a book character on the bookcase on the left side for the character token for Xenophilius (Wedding).
Outside of the tent, walk down the path to the right and you’ll eventually come across a fishing pole lying on the ground. Lift it with Wingardium Leviosa and it’ll pull the character token for Albert Runcorn out of the water.
This will most likely be achieved during Year Seven, but if you haven’t done so yet, use Hermione’s bag plate for the character token for Xenophilius Lovegood.
To the left of the tent is a red wall that can be shot with Diffindo. After the bricks fall out, you can go inside to get the character token for Dragomir Despard.
Walk up the hill and shoot the skeletal cow creature. You’ll find another further left down the path, near the owl where you would put a Red Brick. Then, walk toward the screen from here and shoot the final creature. Walk back to where they have gathered and they will do a little dance, and when they’re done, the character token for Remus Lupin will appear.
After heading up the hill, go to the far right into an area where it magically becomes winter. Lift three trees out of the ground, then shoot them for the Ron (Winter Clothes) character token.
In the back right area up the hill, use Dark Magic on the left side of the back wall for the character token for Lucius Malfoy.
Use Dark Magic on the right side of the back wall for the character token for Scabior.
To the left of this area, pull the large mushroom out of the ground and several smaller ones will pop up. Ride the mushroom over each of them (there are five) for the Red Brick – Christmas.
To the left of the Red Brick owl and the cow thing, use Aguamenti to grow a plant. The Student In Peril will fall out shortly.
After getting the Student In Peril, shoot the top of the flower of the plant for the Fleur Delacour character token.
Behind the Red Brick owl, use Dark Magic on the vines for the character token for Snatcher.
Do the same along the left side for the character token for Yaxley.
Near here you should find another spot to water using Aguamenti. Destroy the flowers, then repeatedly shoot the green cocoon until it bursts, leaving behind the Reg Cattermole character token.
At the area where you found one of the skeletal cows, by the lake, you should see three frogs sitting around it. One is near the cow creature and is hard to see, but the others are in plain sight. Shoot them all to make them jump into the lake, and the Percy Weasley character token will appear.
If you walk along the left side of this area and then up, you’ll come up a hill that leads to a cliff. At the top will be Harry’s Patronus, which will disappear and leave behind the character token for James Potter (Ghost) when approached.
Shoot the rock to the right of the Patronus for the Hermione (Ministry) character token.
Use Dark Magic on the rock at the end of the cliff, then get on the cannon and shoot each of the targets for the Gold Brick.
Charms Classroom – Left
Shoot the statue of the wizard in the right corner of the room three times for the Lavender Brown character token.
On the right side of the room, walk through the aisle in the rows of seats for a Gold Brick.
On the left side of the room, put out the flames with Aguamenti to get the Student In Peril.
If you haven’t already done so during the lessons in this room, fill up the tank with the stairs inside using Aguamenti to reach the balcony. Use Ron’s Deluminator to move the light from above the painting to the plant on the right side. The plant will drop the head of the armor; attach it for the Cho Chang character token.
Charms Classroom – Right
Put on the Spectrespecs on the right side of the room, then assemble the pieces in front of Professor Flitwick to make the Hannah Abbott character token appear.
Repeatedly shoot the red object along the back wall near the stairs for the Justin Finch-Fletchley character token.
Go up the stairs to the balcony and walk up to the tank. Fill it with Aguamenti, then lift the hoop for the Professor Flitwick character token.
From the ground floor, shoot the three H banners on the wall in the front of the room. Go up to the balcony and jump across, then shoot the Slytherin House banner above the middle platform for the Student In Peril.
(The Gold Brick found in this room should have already been collected during a lesson; if you don’t have it, check here for directions on how it was found.)
Use Reducto to shoot the lock off of the cabinet on the right side of the Potions doorway for the Student In Peril.
Go up the stairs on the right side and go to the right to find a chess board. Activate it with magic to unlock the Hermione (Cardigan) character token.
Walk out the door on the left to enter the hallway that leads to the Charms classrooms. Give the sword on the wall to the suit of armor, and after a few seconds, the armor will toss you the Ron (Red Sweater) character token.
From here, there are a number of different ways to go. The doorway on the far left will bring you to a hallway with two doors that lead to two different Charms classrooms. The left side balcony will bring you to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. In the center of the room, there is a large arch that leads to the Potions classroom. And finally, if you go to the far right and shoot the wall with Diffindo, then cut out the suit of armor, you will be able to reach the Divination courtyard and classroom, along with the Astronomy Tower.
Clock Tower Courtyard
(Similar to the “path to Hogwarts” area, this area also technically has two parts: the smaller courtyard or “entrance courtyard” that you enter after leaving the second part of the “path to Hogwarts,” and the actual clock tower courtyard. The first two collectibles are found in the entrance courtyard, while the final two are found in the clock tower courtyard itself)
Above the doorway in the top center, there is a lit lamp. Use Ron’s Deluminator on it, then carry it to the back right corner and release it. The bugs, or whatever they are, attacking the student will flock to the light, earning you another Student In Peril.
In the top right corner, use Diffindo on the tree and cut out the brick, then carry it slightly to the left to the owl for the Red Brick – Collect Ghost Studs. (Probably won’t be of much use to you if you’ve already completed the levels, but still helps on your way to 100%.)
Go through the doorway to the right to enter the clock tower courtyard. On your right as you enter, you should see a Weasley box. Use a Weasley to open it and get a portable swamp, then lift it to make some vines and little leaf platforms appear, leading up to the roof. You can climb up to reach the Gold Brick and walk around for some extra studs.
(The other collectible here, a character token, is found in between two Year 8 levels. I did write how to get it in this walkthrough, so if you don’t already have the McGonagall (Black) token, it may be because you didn’t finish story mode.)
From here, there are a few different places you can go. The left exit will lead you to the Herbology courtyard, from which you can also reach the Herbology classroom. The right exit will bring you to a glitchy courtyard, which leads to the first entrance into Hogwarts and the bridge that will take you to the main Hogwarts grounds. Here this courtyard and entrance is referred to just as the entrance to Hogwarts, since these two areas, like the clock tower courtyard and path to Hogwarts, function as one area together.
(Once again, the hallway to the common rooms, along with the Slytherin and Hufflepuff common rooms themselves, are considered one area.)
Starting from the far left, use Dark Magic on the banner above the doorway to the Slytherin common room, then assemble the pieces into a bag plate for Hermione. She will pull out a battering ram that, when activated, will allow entrance into the Slytherin common room and give you the character token for Blaise Zabini.
Using the Parseltongue puzzle near the Slytherin common room will free the Student In Peril.
The character token for the Fat Lady can be obtained by shooting both of the banners through the arch to the Gryffindor common room, then assembling the pieces and shooting the statues with Reducto.
Use a book character on the bookcase near the Hufflepuff entrance for the Ron (Blue Pyjamas) character token.
There are eight House banners to shoot in this area: two are on either side of the Slytherin common room entrance, two on either side of the Gryffindor entrance, two through the little arch to the Gryffindor entrance, one in front of the Hufflepuff entrance, and one to the right of the Ravenclaw entrance. The Gold Brick will appear through the Gryffindor arch.
(To open the Hufflepuff common room entrance, use Dark Magic on the outside. To open the Ravenclaw entrance, place the object on the left pillar, then put out the fire on the right pillar using Aguamenti.)
Inside of the Slytherin common room, solve the Parseltongue puzzle to open the gate for the Draco (Sweater) character token.
In the same area, fill the tank with Aguamenti and jump on the plunger for the Goyle (Jumper) character token.
Inside of the Hufflepuff common room, remove the lock from the chest on the right with Reducto and shoot the chest for the Neville (Tank Top) character token.
Also inside of the Hufflepuff common room, shoot the long box under the painting for the character token for Madam Pomfrey.
Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom
Use Dark Magic to open the chest in the front of the room for the Umbridge (Wizengamot) character token.
After opening the chest, attach the pieces to the dinosaur for the Draco Malfoy character token.
Shoot the student hanging from the balcony in the back of the room for the Student In Peril.
Walk into the left corner near the student for a Gold Brick.
Put the piece on the horse skeleton on the left side of the room, then shoot it a few times until it kicks the cabinet and leaves behind the Red Brick. Carry it to the owl not far from there for the Red Brick – Extra Hearts.
Head to the left near Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes for a Gold Brick.
Near the end of Diagon Alley, not far from the entrance to Knockturn Alley, there are some vines sticking out of a grate in the ground. Get Lumos ready with two different characters, and use one to make the vines go away. As soon as they’re gone, switch to the other character and make them go away from a different grate. If you do this correctly, the character token for Gregorovitch should appear between the two grates.
Shoot the table on the left side of the street for the Mundungus Fletcher character token.
To get into Knockturn Alley, head the whole way down Diagon Alley until you reach a red lock. Shoot it with Diffindo, then cut it in half to unlock the gate.
Diagon Alley – The Leaky Cauldron
On either side of the door that you enter through from Diagon Alley, there should be a cup on a table. Pick one up and move it to a bar on the left, then do the same with the other. In the back of the room, there’s another one on a table, and setting it on the bar will earn you a Gold Brick.
In front of the same bar, there are three stools that you can shoot to act as a spring. The ones on either side propel you toward a blue coin, but the one in the middle will allow you to get the character token for Hestia Jones.
You can save a Student In Peril by heading up the stairs but not entering through the door, and shooting the student stuck in the spider web near the ceiling.
Now you can head up the stairs and go the whole way down the hallway, into the room where you can watch clips from the story. To the left, behind the couch and in front of the projector, you will find the character token for Mrs. Figg.
Go through the door in the back of this area to enter the London Street.
Diagon Alley – Madam Malkin’s
From the entrance, head straight and you should walk right into a clothing rack. Shoot it for the character token of Madam Malkin.
Head up the stairs and shoot the curtain on the left for a Gold Brick.
Shoot the curtain on the right to save a Student In Peril.
Diagon Alley – Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes
On the left side of the shop you’ll find an area to enter codes. In the front left corner near here, shoot the box with the fireworks to set them off, then shoot it again for the George Weasley character token.
To get the Fred Weasley character token, do the same as you did to get the George Weasley one, only in the corner directly to the left of the stairs.
In this same area, shoot the box with the purple lid for the Fred (Pyjamas) character token.
The Student In Peril is also found on this left side in the back, hanging by a spider web right above the ladder. Shoot the web to free him.
On the right side, near the door, there are three Pygmy puff cages that shine silver. Destroy them all with Reducto for the George (Pyjamas) character token.
To the left of the cages is what looks like a big black rock that shines red. Open it with Dark Magic to see that it’s actually a music box, and you will get a Gold Brick.
Shoot all three of the large cups along the back wall, then assemble the pieces for the Neville (Pyjamas) character token.
Fill the tank on the left side of the back wall with water using Aguamenti for the Professor Trelawney character token.
Shoot the large stack of cups along the left side of the back wall for a Student In Peril.
There is a Gold Brick in the back of the room, behind Professor Trelawney.
Put the top on the spring to make it up to the Spectrespecs dispenser (the stairs don’t work) and put them on, then go to the left side of the room and assemble the pieces. Shoot the center to make the Red Brick appear, then carry it to the owl to unlock the Red Brick – Character Token Detector.
There are three hanging flower baskets to build and shoot in the courtyard: two on either side of the door as you enter, and one on the right side near the door. This will give you the character token for Ginny (Dress).
Put on the Spectrespecs and assemble the pieces in the center, then jump on top of the plant to reach a Gold Brick.
Water the spot on the ground in the back left, then repeatedly shoot the plant for a Red Brick. Take it to the owl in the front right corner for the Red Brick – Invincibility.
Along with the Gold Brick, jumping on the plant will also give you the character token for Neville (Waiter).
Use Aguamenti on the student along the back wall, near the stairs to the classroom, to free the Student In Peril.
Use Hermione’s bag plate on the right side and lift the door knocker up to reach the Astronomy Tower.
Entrance to Hogwarts
(This is another area that technically has two parts– the courtyard with various suits of armor that leads to the bridge to the grounds, and the first room you enter into Hogwarts. The first collectible here is found in the courtyard, while the rest are found inside of Hogwarts.)
As you first enter the actual courtyard, use Aguamenti on the arch you walk through and shoot the flower. Do the same to the three forward-facing arches in the back for the Rita Skeeter character token.
As you enter the room in Hogwarts, walk along the top level first and use Wingardium Leviosa on the two torches here. There is one more torch down each set of stairs, and two more as you walk to the right. A Gold Brick should appear in the center of the room once all torches are activated.
At the bottom of the staircase on the right, make the feather fly off of the helmet of the armor for a Student In Peril.
In the left corner, give the sword to the suit of armor for the Susan Bones character token.
There are multiple places you can go from here. The door at the top of the left staircase, although initially inaccessible, can be opened by filling the nearby tank with Aguamenti; this door will lead to the library. The door on the far left will lead to the hallway from which you can reach all of the classrooms. The doorway in the center of the bottom floor leads to the Great Hall entrance. And, finally, the door on the far right leads to the Grand Staircase, from which you can reach the common rooms.
Ride one of the thestrals up into the air until you reach the Gold Brick. (It’s pretty high up.)
Destroy the object near the bridge with Dark Magic to get the Red Brick. Before you pick it up, cross the bridge and kill the plant that is blocking the hole in the log. Then, walk through the log and to the owl for the Red Brick – Regenerate Hearts.
On the right side of the log, walk toward the screen and drop down into the small area. Use a digging character to dig up the chest, then shoot it open for the Padma Patil character token.
In the same area, use Dark Magic on the rock, then step on it to create a path through the swamp to the Katie Bell character token.
Once you’ve made it across the swamp, go up the stairs to the higher area. Jump across the little stream/waterfall until you reach a tree. Use Lumos on the vines, then unwrap the branches from the tree for the Student In Peril.
On the far left side of the area, unwrap the branches from the tree for the Luna (Blue Jumper) character token.
On your left as you enter is a chest with a red lock. Destroy the lock, then shoot the chest for a Student In Peril.
When you reach Dumbledore’s office, shoot the pillar on the left to make it catch fire. Then, put the fire out with Aguamenti for the Regulus Black character token.
Do the same to the pillar on the right for the character token for Dumbledore (Young).
The character token for Ernie Prang can be found at the very top of the staircase after opening the bookcase with a book character.
Use Aguamenti on the plants near the previous token to build another staircase. Jump on the spider webs for the Dedalus Diggle character token.
(A Gold Brick and a character token here, Zacharias Smith, should have been unlocked during story mode in between two Year 6 levels. However, if you don’t have them, I did write how to get them here.)
There are two new places you can reach from here. Walking forward after the first set of stairs will bring you to the hallway with the common rooms, while the newly accessible staircase at the very top (the one with the Dedalus Diggle token) has a doorway that’ll bring you to the Room of Requirement hallway.
Use a book character to open the bookcase as you walk in, then shoot the three candles for the Penelope Clearwater character token.
Use Dark Magic on the chest behind the table in the back for a Red Brick. Carry it to the owl at the head of the table for the Red Brick – Character Studs.
Shoot the bowl of fruit on the far right table for the Fat Friar character token.
Lift the covering off of the platter near the Dark Magic chest for a “1/3.” Do the same to the next table a little further down, and the far left table for a Gold Brick.
At the very front of the room, at the professors’ table, you should see a moving silver platter. The Student In Peril, of course, is underneath, but you must shoot the platter from atop one of the tables in order for it to work.
The character token for the Bloody Baron can also be found here; shoot the rolled up Slytherin House banner along the left side of the back wall and the token will fall out.
Great Hall Entrance
Starting from the left, use the Weasley box to climb up the wall and remove the lock from the chest with Reducto, then shoot the chest for the Ron (Green Shirt) character token.
Use a Focus character (Harry, Snape, Voldemort) to shoot the cloud above Filch’s head in the back left corner. He wants you to find his broom, which is under a pile of junk near the sticky wall, so destroy the pile and bring the broom over. He will give you a Gold Brick as a reward.
Use a variant of Ron to trap the light in the back left corner inside of the Deluminator, then carry it to the front right corner to save the Student In Peril.
In the back right corner, walk behind the large object for the Dean Thomas character token.
In the front right corner, use Dark Magic on the chest and assemble the pieces for the Red Brick – Hogwarts Crest Detector.
From here, you can go through the center door to the Great Hall, up the stairs on the left to the Room of Requirement hallway, down the center stairs to the entrance, or through the door on the right to the Weasley twins’ courtyard.
Put on the Spectrespecs and assemble the pieces for the Red Brick. Carry it to the owl to unlock the Red Brick – Fast Dig.
Use Aguamenti on the back of the large stone nearest to the edge of the hill for the character token for Professor Grubbly-Plank.
To the left of Hagrid’s hut (not through the gate) there is a student trapped in vines. Use Lumos for the Student In Peril.
Have Hermione use the bag plate in Hagrid’s garden for a flying pumpkin that you can use to collect studs, along with the Bellatrix (Azkaban) character token. (Alternatively, if you don’t have a variant of Hermione in your list of free play characters, you can use a digging character to dig up a similar pumpkin nearby.)
Have a strong character pull the handle in Hagrid’s garden for the Gold Brick.
From the grounds, you can trap the light by the entrance inside of Ron’s Deluminator, carry it down the left side of the hill, and release it by the gate to gain entrance to the Quidditch arena. You could also go into the Forbidden Forest through Hagrid’s garden, or walk along the front of the screen to the right until you reach a bag plate and use Hermione on it to unlock the gate and gain access to the lake.
Gryffindor Common Room
Near the door, flip the picture around and shoot the man inside for the Ginny (Pyjamas) character token.
You can free a Student In Peril by putting out the flames in the fireplace with Aguamenti.
Use Ron to trap the light from the right of the fireplace in the Deluminator and carry it to the painting on the left side of the room for the McGonagall (Pyjamas) character token.
Pick up the dart from the ground and spin it to throw it at a board and get the Harry (Pyjamas) character token.
Shoot the bookcase on the far left, then put the books together to make some stairs to reach the Hermione (Ball Gown) character token.
Go through the back room into the boys’ dorms and shoot the beds, then jump on them. Pieces will scatter into the center of the room that you must put together after shooting the top of the heater with Reducto. Once the pieces are on the heater, you will get a Gold Brick.
Start in the back left corner by filling a bucket using Aguamenti, which will set off a chain reaction that frees the Student In Peril.
Shoot the back wall with Diffindo and cut out the vacuum, then assemble the pieces and jump onto the vacuum. Ride around until you get all five of whatever you’re sucking up (two are along the right side, two are along the left, and one is in the center behind the red wall). This will give you a Gold Brick.
Use Dark Magic on the chest in the back behind the Diffindo wall for the Slughorn (Young) character token.
Use a variant of Hermione on the bag plate, then place the platforms on the cactus and climb up from the plant on the left for the Arthur (Cardigan) character token.
Follow the turning path near the entrance and you’ll end up near a student being sprayed with water by another student. Shoot the bully to send him running off and get you a Student In Peril.
Near the student, water the spot on the ground and shoot the flower for the Cornelius Fudge character token.
Use Dark Magic on the vines on the wall at the end of this path for a Gold Brick.
Go through the door to enter the greenhouse, referred to here as the Herbology classroom.
Starting in the little area on the right as you enter, use a digging character to dig up the spot on the left for the Dean (Winter) character token.
Dig up the spot on the right for the Seamus (Winter) character token.
Put on the Spectrespecs around the center of the path, then go down to where you entered from and build the snowman. A Red Brick will appear; carry it up to the owl on the left side of the path for the Red Brick – Score x2.
Go up the left side of the path and shoot the cart until it is destroyed for the character token for Parvati Patil.
These are difficult to see at first, but above the entrance to the Three Broomsticks (the little building in between the two paths that lead up) are some icicles hanging from the roof. There are a total of seven, and destroying them all will cause the character token for Harry (Winter) to appear in the doorway of the building.
Walk toward the area you entered from, but instead of going down the hill, go onto the little balcony. Use Ron to trap the light in his Deluminator, then carry up the path on the right and release it to save the Student In Peril.
On the right side of the path, get up on top of the vault and jump for the Marietta Edgecombe character token.
Use a key character to open the vault for a Gold Brick.
As you reach the Hogsmeade Station, you should be near a lamppost. Put the torches up on this one to get a 1/5 indication. The rest are to the left of the pet tunnel, in front of the first bench by the arch, in front of the second bench by the arch, and in the back by Hermione’s bag plate. Getting all of them will get you the Station Guard character token.
Use Dark Magic on the lock on the Hogsmeade sign, then shoot it for the Red Brick – Red Brick Detector.
Use Reducto on the chest near the pet tunnel to get the final piece for it, and put it together. Use a pet to crawl through and knock down the broom, then hop on the broom and fly up to the roof of the arch to find the character token for Luna (Overalls).
Turn the clock above the arch for the Gold Brick.
Use Hermione’s bag plate on the right side, then shoot the object with Reducto. Lift the coin into the slot for the Student In Peril.
Going through the arch here will lead you to the path to Hogwarts.
As you first enter Knockturn Alley, you should see a pipe on the left with a lock that glows red. Destroy it with Dark Magic for the Pius Thicknesse character token.
Head down the path and right before Borgin and Burkes, take a right down a little alley. Here you should find the character token for Sirius (Azkaban).
A little bit down the path on your left, you should see a small cage with a spider inside. Destroy it for the character token Slytherin Twin #2.
At the very end of the path, you should see some cages with lobsters inside and a table. Behind the table, although it’s hard to see, is one of these cages, and it must be broken to earn the character token for Slytherin Twin #1.
To get the Student In Peril, use Dark Magic on the rock outside of Borgin and Burkes.
Knockturn Alley – Borgin and Burkes
After heading inside, keep going to the left. You should eventually see the Gold Brick suspended in midair, in front of a mirror. Simply jump up and touch it to unlock it.
As far to the left as you can go without going up the stairs is a greenish tank. Fill it using Aguamenti, then shoot the fish inside three times to get the character token for Narcissa Malfoy.
The character token for Mrs. Black can be unlocked by destroying the chest with Dark Magic, then building and shooting the skeleton.
To enter the secret Lego City level, go up the stairs and assemble the pieces to make an arch, then head inside.
Destroy the statue in your path as you enter using Reducto to get a Red Brick. Carry it down the stairs to the owl for the Red Brick – Score x10.
Unlock the vault further down the stairs for the Professor Binns character token.
Pull the strong handle at the bottom of the stairs for the Crabbe (Jumper) character token.
Use Hermione’s bag plate at the bottom of the stairs for a bouncy mushroom pad; jump up to reach the Gold Brick.
Use Dark Magic on the plant to the right of the bag plate to free the Student In Peril.
As you enter, you should see a bookshelf in the back of the room that looks out of place. Walk up to it and place the fallen book back on the shelf. There are four more of these throughout the room. The next one is close by, and you first must remove the book from a spider web before placing it on the shelf. Then, walk to the right and have a pet crawl through the tunnel to knock the book down before placing it on the shelf. On the right side of the room in the back, have a book character open the bookcase, then shoot the glass object that comes out. Place it over the phonograph and you will get another book to put on the shelf. Finally, build a library cart in the front right corner and place the book from there onto the shelf for a Gold Brick.
In the same area as the library cart, use Hermione’s bag plate and fill the pool with water using Aguamenti to save a Student In Peril.
You’ll need a Ravenclaw character to wave at the painting on the right side of the room to reveal the Diffindo wall. Shoot the wall and cut out the shape, then assemble the pieces to make a key to unlock the door in the back. Here you will find the Anthony Goldstein character token.
The Red Brick – Fall Rescue is also found in the back room.
In the second aisle, open the chest with Dark Magic and assemble the pieces to build a fan. Stand in front of the fan and it’ll bring you up to the character token for Madam Irma Pince.
Open the vault with a key character for the Ministry Guard character token.
To get the Rufus Scrimgeour character token, use a Deluminator character to bring the light from the lamp near the vault around the corner. After transferring the light, a door will open, allowing you access to the token.
On your way down the street you should pass a red telephone booth. To the right of this is a window marred with graffiti of a Lego head. Use Aguamenti to wash it off for the character token for Mafalda Hopkirk.
Right next to the previous character token is another bit of graffiti in the form of a Lego brick. Wash it off again with Aguamenti for the character token for Mary Cattermole.
In the front right corner, you can get the Red Brick – Gold Brick Detector by putting the garbage in both trash bins and placing them inside of the dumpster.
In the front left corner, on the way to the cafe, use magic on the guitar in the window for a Gold Brick.
To the right of the guitar is a red trash can; shoot it for the Student In Peril.
On the far left, you can use the Apparition plate to appear inside of the tent from The Deathly Hallows, and subsequently reach the campsite area. You can also walk down the stairs on the left side of the street to reach Platform 9 3/4.
London Street – Luchino Caffe
Along the left side wall is a small black table and cup to use Dark Magic on. Doing so will get you the character token for Thorfinn Rowle.
On this wall there is also a red and black cabinet to use Dark Magic on. Three sponges will be released onto three tables; use them to clean the stains off for the character token for Dolohov (Workman).
Near here is a chalkboard; use Wingardium Leviosa on the chalk and put it up to the board to draw a plate and some question marks, and the character token for Petunia Dursley will appear.
On the right side wall there are four clocks all in a row. Make each one spin until coins are released to get the character token for Petunia (Green Coat).
Pick up the green coffee mug in the back right corner and place it under the coffee machine. Pick it up again and carry it to the back, then set it down on the green table. Go through the door in the back to go into the kitchen, and head to the back near the waitress. Float the chicken up to the bug zapper, then carry the plate back out to the restaurant and place it on the green table next to the mug. A man will walk inside, and then you’ll get the Dudley Dursley character token.
Go through the door to the kitchen for the next few collectibles. Use Dark Magic on the canister next to the sink, and the character token for Mrs. Cole will appear in the back of the room.
Turn on the sink for the Student In Peril.
After saving the Student In Peril, put the plates into the sink, then lift them back out for the Vernon Dursley character token.
To the right of the waitress is a radio; activate it to make the waitress dance, then the character token for Waitress (Luchino) will appear.
To the left of the waitress is an orange handle to be pulled with a strong character for a Gold Brick.
Path to Hogsmeade
One of the first things you should see as you walk down this path is a lit lamp next to a Red Brick owl. Use a variant of Ron to trap the light inside of his Deluminator, then carry it all the way to the right side. Release the light into the lamp to melt the ice around the Red Brick, then carry it back to the owl to unlock the Red Brick – Score x6.
Use Reducto to remove the lock from the barrel, then shoot it to save a Student In Peril.
Shoot the barrel after you’ve saved the student for the character token for Michael Corner.
Continually shoot the cart next to the barrel until it is destroyed for the Fred (Winter) character token.
Walk up the path and use a strong character to pull the handle for a Gold Brick.
Walk to the right down the path and pull the tree out of the ground, then shoot it for the George (Winter) character token.
From this tree, walk toward the screen to enter the village of Hogsmeade.
Path to Hogwarts
(The first thing you should know about this area is that it’s actually two areas put together– walking through the gate will bring you to the second “part” of the area. [It took me a while to figure this out, but Sir Nicholas only appears in the first area, the one with the path to Hogsmeade.] The following collectibles are found in the area you enter after leaving the Hogsmeade station, and I will indicate when to enter the area that you actually enter Hogwarts from for the rest of the collectibles.)
Use Reducto on the lock about halfway down the path on your left. You will enter a lake area, where riding on one of the dragon boats and following the coin path will lead you to a Gold Brick.
In the same area, you can either ride in a boat or swim to the middle of the lake for the character token for Lily (Young Casual).
Use Lumos on the chest right before the entrance into the next area to save a Student In Peril.
Use a digging character on the spot to dig up some bricks, then stack them up on the pink area behind it to reach the character token for Luna Lovegood.
Use a strong character to pull the handle to the left of the digging spot to reveal the character token for James Potter (Young).
Finally, use a variant of Hermione on the bag plate nearing the entrance to the next area to create a scarecrow. Use Wingardium Leviosa to make it move and a Red Brick will appear. Then, carry it up to the owl to unlock the Red Brick – Score x8.
Go through this doorway to enter the first part of the Hogwarts grounds: the clock tower courtyard.
Platform 9 3/4
Starting from the very front of the platform, use a pet to climb through the tunnel. At the top will be the character token for Dudley (Shirt).
Also at the top of the tunnel is a Gold Brick.
Walk a little forward to the area with the blue and white striped stall. Shoot the yellow box on the beam for the character token for Muggle Orphan.
Shoot each of the papers from the stall for the character token for Waitress (Treats).
Shoot the boy down from the clock for the Student In Peril.
Behind the Student In Peril is a red object on one of the beams. Shoot it with Diffindo, then cut it in half for the Red Brick – Score x4.
To get on the Hogwarts Express and reach areas in and around Hogwarts, walk up to the conductor in the blue suit and a button should appear for you to press to get on the train.
Walk along the back of the room until you can take a left for a Gold Brick.
There are four toads in the room that must be found: one on the front left table, one on the front right table, one on the middle right table, and one on the back right table. After finding them all, the character token for Charity Burbage will appear.
The Student In Peril is hanging from a spider web in the very back of the room.
Once you enter the Quidditch arena, you’re thrown into a flying sequence with Harry and Ron. There are studs all over, but you’ll have to fly in certain directions to get the collectibles here. The character token for Madam Hooch is found close to the start of the flight, in the top left corner. When you’re flying underneath the stands, fly to the right for the Ron (Quidditch) character token, then to the left for the Gold Brick. After coming up from underground, immediately fly down to reach the Nymphadora Tonks character token. If you missed any collectibles during the flying sequence, you’ll have to wait until it ends and go back through the gate to start the flight over.
Ravenclaw Common Room
On your left as you enter, destroy the vines with Dark Magic to free a Student In Peril.
After using Dark Magic on the vines, walk through the little doorway you’ve unblocked for the Marcus Belby character token.
On your way up the stairs, shoot each of the curtains with Reducto for the Moaning Myrtle character token.
Once you get near the top of the stairs, put on the Spectrespecs and assemble the pieces to make a huge door knocker. Activate it for the Luna (Pink Dress) character token.
Room of Requirement Hallway
Right at the top of the stairs coming from the Grand Staircase, use a book character to open the bookcase for the Dirk Cresswell character token.
Activate four chandeliers (two down the first hallway, two down the last) for the Cormac McLaggen character token.
Shoot four pillars (one to the left of the bookcase, one near the Red Brick owl, one near the Student In Peril, and one near the Dark Magic chest) for the Blaise (Black Shirt) character token.
Near the stairs that lead to the Great Hall entrance, remove the feather from the left suit of armor’s helmet for the Luna (Yellow Dress) character token.
In the same area, shoot the suit of armor on the right until it falls apart completely for the Vincent Crabbe character token.
Down the last hallway, shoot the student trapped in the web to save a Student In Peril.
Open the chest at the end of this hallway with Dark Magic for a Gold Brick.
Destroy the statue near the chest with Reducto for a Red Brick. Carry it all the way to the first hallway to unlock the Red Brick – Stud Magnet.
You can go down the set of stairs near where you received the Luna and Crabbe tokens to end up in the Great Hall entrance.
Weasley Twins’ Courtyard
Start by shooting the silver thing on the wall to the right of the sticky wall, then assembling the pieces. Use the Weasley box around the corner, then climb up the wall onto the roof and shoot the Hufflepuff House banner to save a Student In Peril.
Go to the right and use the Weasley box, then climb the wall on the far left to reach the Charlie Weasley character token.
Dig up the spot near the cauldron for a Gryffindor piece, which you must place in the red spot along the back wall. You should notice that the Hufflepuff piece is already here– that leaves only two more to find. The Ravenclaw piece is found in the back right corner of the area, trapped in some vines that can be repelled using Lumos. Finally, for the Slytherin piece, shoot the rolled up Slytherin House banner to the right of the sticky wall by the other pieces and it should fall out. Place it on the wall for the George (OWLs) character token.
Use Dark Magic on the object along the back near the doorway for the Red Brick. Carry it to the front right corner for the Red Brick – Super Strength.
Use Aguamenti to fill the tank by the fountain for the Fred (OWLs) character token.
(There was also a Gold Brick to be found here, but it should have been collected during the Weasley twins’ sequence here during Year Five. However, if you don’t have it, here‘s the link to the guide.)
Go through the arch on the right side of the courtyard to enter the storage room.
Weasley Twins’ Courtyard – Storage Room
Use Dark Magic to open the cabinet on the right side for a Student In Peril.
Shoot the white cabinet next to the Dark Magic cabinet for the Arthur (Torn Suit) character token.
Open the bookcase with a book character on the left side in the back of the room for the Argus Filch character token.
In this level you’ll need a Regular Wizard, Dark Wizard, Digging Character, Goblin, Weasley, and Strong Character.
While Harry’s off fighting the Dark Lord, Hermione, Ron, and Neville are here and ready to kick butt! The creators of the game like to end things by giving you lots of easily-obtained collectibles, so start off by releasing Crookshanks and digging up the spot nearest to you. This is the first of three– the second can be found by walking to the right from here, and the final one near the shining rock in the middle. Digging all of these spots up will give you the Hufflepuff Crest piece. You should also find a couple of small fires scattered around the area: one by the final digging spot, one in the corner on the right side, and one around the center of the left side. There are two more in the last area that will get you the collectible for this, so start on getting through the actual level and destroy the silver rocks on the right side. This will reveal a cauldron for you to set up and find the three ingredients. Slightly to your right, you can use Wingardium Leviosa to get the popsicle out of the sleeping troll’s hand. Then, use Diffindo to destroy the red object in the middle for the second ingredient. And finally, head to the far left and assemble the pieces, then use Aguamenti to receive the last ingredient.
And now, a little switch to Molly Weasley and Kingsley Shacklebolt. Use Molly to open the Weasley box and put the firework together. Head down the path, then assemble the bridge to cross. Use Aguamenti to put out the flames and build the weight, then attach it overhead for another bridge. After crossing, walk toward the screen for the Gryffindor Crest piece. Keep going forward, dropping down to a lower area and assembling the pieces to build a spring to bounce yourself up and to the right. Use Wingardium Leviosa to build a bridge, and cross it to reach Bellatrix. Like in the last few levels and on the grounds, Death Eaters are everywhere, so blast through them until Bellatrix jumps down and is ready for a duel. Afterward, another wave of enemies will show up. Duel her again and she’ll send more Death Eaters until she decides to hop back down for a last duel. After defeating her for the final time, you will automatically receive the character token for Bellatrix Lestrange.
Here’s the part where it gets tricky: there are enemies everywhere. As you begin, there are Death Eaters fighting students and adult wizards all over the place, spiders crawling around, and Nagini shooting venom at you. Nagini is your main concern at the beginning, so avoid the shots while extinguishing the flames to the right. Escape around the back and go through the doorway, then head to the right and you should get the Lord Voldemort character token. Come out of here and head to the far left to extinguish some more flames with Aguamenti, and you’ll get the Kingsley Shacklebolt character token. Now, time to fight. Go back to Nagini and use Neville to destroy some spiders. When you see the spider with the purple belly, switch to Hermione to shoot it and pick it up, then throw it at Nagini. Next, a bunch of Death Eaters will show up along with the spiders. Continue to follow the pattern and throw the spider at Nagini. The final wave will be Dementors along with spiders, so take care of the Dementors with Expecto Patronum first. Then, find the purple-bellied spider again and throw it at Nagini for the last time. Use Wingardium Leviosa on the spider once it’s in Nagini’s mouth, then switch to Neville and walk to the orange circle and hit Nagini with the Sword of Gryffindor.
This is it: the final duel with Voldemort. Hit him once in the duel and you’ll switch to Hermione, where you’ll have to battle a Dementor and a spider. Then back to Harry, hit Voldemort, and back to Hermione, destroy Dementor, spider, and Death Eater. Back to Harry again, hit, and back to Hermione, destroy one Dementor, two spiders, and a Death Eater. And finally, back to Harry for a critical hit to end both the level and the game.
In the first area, there is a safe stuck in the ground near the red object that gives you a potion ingredient. Use Wingardium Leviosa to get it out, then use a Goblin to open it to save the Student In Peril.
In the second area, after building the bridge with the weight and crossing it, walk back to find an orange handle. Have a strong character pull it for a Spectrespecs dispenser. Head back to the beginning of the area and assemble the pieces to make a box, then shoot it for the Ravenclaw Crest piece. Toward the end of the area, where you build the bridge to get to Bellatrix, head to the right and jump across the gap to reach a closet to use Dark Magic on for the Slytherin Crest piece.
Now that you’ve beaten the level portion of the game, you should see little floating icons in each area you enter (around Diagon Alley, Hogwarts grounds, etc.) that show which collectibles can be found within the area. It may take me a while to publish the next post, but it’ll be a big one– a full guide to all of these collectibles, separated by the area they are found in.
Congratulations, you’ve finished Year Eight: The Deathly Hallows – Part 2!
In this level you’ll need a Regular Wizard, Dark Wizard, Weasley, Bag Character, Goblin, Mechanic, Strong Character, Deluminator Character, and Book Character.
As you begin, use Aguamenti to fill up the tank and put out the fire. Use Ron on the Weasley box and climb up the wall to the right. Assemble the pieces with Wingardium Leviosa to build a hand, then lift it and stick it on the left wall by the gears to turn them and open the gate. This releases the troll, who smashes through the door on the right, allowing you further access around the area. Jump down and head down the path, blasting any randomly appearing Death Eaters out of your way. You’ll eventually reach a point where the troll is on higher ground. If you’re still playing as Ron, switch to either Harry or Hermione, because Ron’s fear of spiders in this area makes him useless a good portion of the time. As you’re playing here, don’t forget to stop every once in a while to shoot the Death Eaters and occasional spiders. Destroy the statue in the center of the area with Reducto, then use Hermione’s bag plate to build a catapult. Bring it back, then shoot the target on the side to fling a rock up and hit the troll. After this, more spiders and Death Eaters will appear, so destroy them all. Bring the catapult back again, but don’t shoot until the troll is in the middle and the Death Eater with the shield is gone. After this shot, he’ll destroy the catapult, so build it again and get it ready for when he’s in the middle and the shield has been destroyed. He’ll fall off the side of the building after being shot the final time, and some pieces will fall that can be used as platforms to reach where he was previously standing. Head to the right, still blasting away the Death Eaters, until you reach a new room with the troll in the back. If you go to the right, toward the screen, you’ll come across a Death Eater attacking another student. Destroying this Death Eater will earn you the Student In Peril. Now, use Harry to put on the Invisibility Cloak and sneak past the troll. Head to the right, by the red wall, and put out the flames with Aguamenti. Shoot the wall with Diffindo and cut out the music note, then use the pieces to build a phonograph to make the troll dance. Head to the left and use Ron on the Weasley box, then place the box in front of the troll to make him disappear and continue to the next area.
Use Lumos on the vines covering the anchor to your right and levitate it up to make some pieces scatter. Assemble them and turn the handle to destroy the wall. Use Hermione on the bookcase and assemble some more pieces for a boat that destroys itself in the water. Hop in the water and assemble even more pieces to make a fan that allows you to reach the other side. To the left of Snape you’ll see a lit lantern that you must use Ron’s Deluminator to trap. Bring it to the right side on a wall and a wheel will drop. Carry it to the right and fill the tank with Aguamenti, then turn the handle and pick up the little container. Set it down next to Snape, then have Harry shoot the cloud and then give him the container to finish the level.
Right at the beginning, you should be able to see a red and black object behind the sticky wall. Go through the little doorway to the left to climb behind it, and use Dark Magic on it for the Fenrir Greyback character token. Here you will also find the first of three chests you must use Dark Magic on for a collectible– after using a Weasley to climb the sticky wall, it’s immediately to your right. The Gryffindor Crest piece can be obtained once you’re up here as well: after attaching the hand to the wall and opening the gate, use Dark Magic on the gears for the crest piece. The next chest is in the area where you fight the troll for the first time, in the back left corner. After destroying the troll on top of the roof and heading down to the right, you’ll come across a safe that must be opened with a Goblin for the Death Eater character token. In the next area with the troll, you’ll find the last chest, to the left of the troll when he’s standing in front of the doorway. Opening it will give you the Slytherin Crest piece.
In the second area, after destroying the wall, use Dark Magic on the fish for the character token for Professor Snape. Behind the bookcase, use a Mechanic to fix the machine for the Ravenclaw Crest piece. Finally, to the right of Snape near the wall is a handle that must be pulled by a strong character for the Hufflepuff Crest piece.
Follow the ghost coins all the way across the grounds to Hagrid’s hut to reach the final level.
In this level you’ll need a Regular Wizard, Dark Wizard, Digging Character, Deluminator Character, Book Character, Animagus, Strong Character, Weasley, Parselmouth, Mechanic, and Goblin.
And we start off with another area of one of the fans’ favorite couples, Ron and Hermione. First, shoot the bottom cauldron on the right side, then use the Weasley box and give the fan to the sweaty-looking wizard in the painting. In exchange, you’ll get a popsicle, one of the ingredients in your potion. Shoot the flowerpot right next to the painting and use Crookshanks to dig for the second ingredient. Then use Hermione’s bag plate for the last ingredient and add them all to the cauldron. Once the barricade is destroyed, you’ll be looking for a way to reach the Spectrespecs dispenser up on top of what looks like a cabinet. Use Hermione to open the bookcase, then assemble the pieces and give the knight his shield for a way up. Use the Spectrespecs to build the catapult and launch it to clear more of the path. But wait, where are those odd struggling noises coming from? Shoot the swing to the right of the row of armors at the end to free the Student In Peril. Now you can go about using Ron to move the light from the lantern behind the bookshelf to the left to the one by the table on the right. This clears the way to the next area.
Harry’s back and Ron’s gone, but this isn’t a problem. Head down the path and shoot the object on the scale with Reducto three times to lower the piece of the tunnel, then place it on the bottom. Twist the upper one, then have Crookshanks crawl through and press the button on the left, then exit out the other side to topple the knight. Jump down and head forward to move on.
For a while you’ll just be hopping across gaps and flames, and extinguishing smaller flames with Aguamenti. Once you’ve all reached the part where you’re standing on a painting next to a vault, a dragon made of fire will destroy the entire area you just climbed across, and part of the area you need to get to now. Use Wingardium Leviosa to help your friends across, and once they’re there, they’ll help you. Keep jumping across and extinguishing flames with Aguamenti until you reach the end, where you have to shoot the chair with Reducto and assemble the pieces into stairs. Once again, the dragon comes through and destroys where you just were. Extinguish some more flames, use Ron on the Weasley box, and use the firework to make another path across. Keep jumping, then shoot the cabinet and use Diffindo on the wall and build the ladder. After climbing, the dragon will come through again, ending the area.
Follow the blue coins up to the leftmost platform first. Shoot the structure with Reducto, then build the airplane. Ride it to destroy the rest of the structure, then destroy the rest of the items here to make some pieces to assemble. Fill up the water tank with Aguamenti, then jump back on a broom and ride toward the screen to the left. Jump off the broom and onto the ledge. Open the chest and build the bed, then jump on it to reach the Tom Riddle character token. Get back on the broom and ride it to the next platform to the right and toward the screen. Use Wingardium Leviosa to set up the tank, then fill it up with Aguamenti. Jump on the broom again and follow the trail of blue coins to the last platform. Destroy everything until you’ve cleared a path to the Parseltongue wall, and use either Harry or Ron to solve the puzzle. Assemble the pieces, place the tank, and fill it with Aguamenti to end the level.
In the first area, after making the potion, you should see a red glowing lock on a cage to the left of the bookcase. Use a Dark Wizard on it, then fill the balloon with water using Aguamenti until it bursts, giving you the Ravenclaw Crest piece. Also, shoot the chest in the front right corner toward the end of the area for a skeleton, then assemble it. This is the first of three skeletons that will get you a crest piece in the next area.
To the left as you start the area, there is another chest you must shoot and assemble the skeleton. Shoot the dragon’s body, then pull the handle with a strong character to destroy it. Then, turn the handle on the chest to open it and give you the Hufflepuff Crest piece. Back here, you should also find another chest to shoot and assemble the skeleton for the Gryffindor Crest piece.
Near the beginning of the third area, you’ll come across a red cage with the Slytherin Crest piece inside. Use a Dark Wizard to open and get it. As you’re jumping across the bottom level, you’ll eventually reach a vault that a Goblin can be used to unlock and get the Gregory Goyle character token.
Similar to getting the character token for Tom Riddle, on the opposite side is a random platform with a broken machine. Use Arthur Weasley to repair it for the character token Harry (Brown Jacket).
Follow the ghost coin trail once again.
In this level you’ll need a Regular Wizard, Dark Wizard, Parselmouth, Deluminator Character, Weasley, Digging Character, and Animagus.
Start off by pulling the cored and putting the painting pieces in the correct areas (from bottom to top: plant, cloud, sun) to get the pieces for a Spectrespecs dispenser. Put out the fire to the right with Aguamenti, then put on the Spectrespecs and build the chisel. Head down the stairs and use it to destroy part of the barricade, just enough for you to be able to use Reducto and destroy the rest. Head forward to the cauldron and use Aguamenti on the left side to get the first ingredient. Then turn the statue and head up the other set of stairs to solve the Parseltongue puzzle. Turn the statue back and go up the stairs for the next ingredient. Go back to the beginning and put the Spectrespecs back on, and then come back and go up the stairs to put the pieces together. Shoot the statue for the last ingredient. Drink the potion, pull the handle, and use the vacuum-thing to clear away the goo and move forward. Fill up the next tank with Aguamenti and put it over the fire to put it out, then shoot the statue for the Grey Lady character token. Go down the hallway to move on.
Now you’ll be playing as Neville and Seamus. (Keep in mind that extinguishing the little flames all over the area with Aguamenti is a great way to earn coins, and a surefire– no pun intended– way to help you achieve True Wizard!) First shoot the box and get the dynamite to the left of where you start, then set it in the area it shows you. You can’t do anything with the Deluminator or Weasley wall right now, so head down the ramp to move on. Spray all three flowers with Aguamenti, then hop across. First head forward down the ramp, and turn to the vine-covered chest. Use Lumos for another stick of dynamite, then carry it back up the ramp and place it in the designated area. Head back down the ramp and set up the first platform, then hop on it and place the second one where you need it. Hop across, shoot the spider web, and place the third stick on the wall. Now you can head up in the other direction from the flowers, use Aguamenti on the fire, and then float the torch up to the vines to make the platform swing. Head down the ramp and around the corner by the wall, build the stairs, and use Diffindo on the wall. Jump up using the web that has been made and shoot the box to open it, then place the dynamite on the wall. One more to go– head up the stairs you’ve just built and follow the path, clearing the way with Aguamenti. You should reach the ground and a digging spot. Neville, being such an expert in Herbology, does count as a digging character, so here you’re saved. But before you pick up the dynamite and place it back where it goes, head up the hill where you’ll find tons and tons of coins, mostly purple and blue. Bam, automatic True Wizard. Now you can go place the dynamite on the wall to move on.
With Hermione and Ron down in the Chamber of Secrets, you can assemble three skeletons for the Gryffindor Crest piece between this area and the next. The first is right in front of you as you start. Go slightly to the right and have Hermione use Lumos on the vines, then use the bag plate and brush away the purple from the Weasley wall. Before you jump up to reach the Weasley box, head right and put the three fish into the water for the Ravenclaw Crest piece. Now head back and jump up until you reach the top of the waterfall, then jump to the right and have Ron use the box. It’s a little hard to get Ron to stick to the wall at first, but once you do, your main priority is to stay on the wall. It’s hard to walk without swerving, but just stay on the wall and you’ll make it across just fine. Once you’ve gotten him to the other side, use the Deluminator and move the light all the way across to the other end of the area. Assemble the pieces to the Parseltongue puzzle, then use Ron to “imitate” the language to open the box and allow your entry to the next area.
First, shoot the pieces of the skeleton in front of the second snake and assemble them. Then walk to the end of the path and use Wingardium Leviosa to get Hermione’s bag plate out of the last snake’s mouth. Use it for a drill-thing, and ride it to clear away the rocks. Here, use Crookshanks to dig up the parts of the third skeleton and assemble them for the crest piece. Lift up the basilisk skeleton for another bag plate, then use it for some pliers. Move the pliers in front of the basilisk to pull out the tooth, then walk forward to end the level.
As you start the first area, you should see a tank on the lower floor that glows red. Use a Dark Wizard to activate it, then fill it with water using Aguamenti for the Slytherin Crest piece. At the foot of the stairs, there is a glowing lantern that you can use the Deluminator on and move the light to the lantern just before the cauldron, then squirt the faces with Aguamenti for the Hufflepuff Crest piece.
In the area with Neville and Seamus, use Ron’s Deluminator to move the light from the lantern down the ramp to the one by the spider. This will cause the spider to drop the Weasley box you need to climb the wall. Use a Weasley to open it, then climb the wall for the Seamus Finnegan character token. At the end of the area, go past the digging spot and use a Dark Wizard on the object up the hill. Then, use Aguamenti on the plant to free the Student In Peril.
In the first area of the Chamber, use a Dark Wizard on the objects on the right side. Use Hermione’s bag plate, then use a digging character and place the object on the statue for the character token Neville (Cardigan).
Follow the trail of ghost coins into a door to the left.
In this level you’ll need a Regular Wizard, Dark Wizard, Bag Character, Digging Character, Deluminator Character, Weasley, Book Character, and Goblin.
Now you’re in Hogsmeade, trying to sneak past the patrolling Death Eaters and make it back to Hogwarts. Start by sneaking over to the right side and shooting the Undesirable No. 1 poster. If you happen to get caught by a Death Eater, shoot them to make them Disapparate. More and more will Apparate in and the ones that are already there will come after you, so just continue to shoot them until they’re all gone. Go up to the top right corner and use Crookshanks to dig, then use Hermione’s bag plate. Attach the missing piece and use Wingardium Leviosa to clear away the rubble, but be careful moving forward from here as more Death Eaters will appear. Get rid of them, then shoot the two more Undesirable No. 1 posters up here for the Gryffindor Crest piece. Now, pick up the flowers and add them to the cauldron. Use Hermione’s bag plate and fill the tub with Aguamenti for the next ingredient, then use Ron’s Deluminator for the final one. Add them to the cauldron to move on.
After a little cutscene where you meet Aberforth, you’re back inside Hogwarts. It’s now your job to wake Dean, Luna, and Seamus up from their hammocks above the ground. Start on the left side, and use Diffindo on the wall to make an alarm clock. Turn the handle to wake up Dean, then head forward and use Aguamenti to get the Student In Peril that is hanging from the ceiling. Then, move to the right and hang up the Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff banners on the floor. Build the Weasley box, then have Ron use it to put the firecracker together and wake Luna. Finally, go to the right a bit more and use Hermione’s bag plate to pull out a radio. Shoot it, then levitate it up to wake up Seamus.
Before you start dueling in the next area, switch to McGonagall and use the bookcase to the right. Solve the puzzle for the Ravenclaw Crest piece. Then, use Reducto on the statues on the opposite side for the Slytherin Crest piece. Now, go ahead and start dueling. After defeating one of the two Death Eaters, Snape will start to toss things at you. It’s a simple pattern: avoid the first two objects, then toss the third back. Once Snape loses his last heart, duel him to end the level.
You can put together the leftover pieces from the vacuum to build a small shed, which can be unlocked with a key to get the character token for Death Eater Alecto Carrow. The key is obtained by using Dark Magic on a red and black object nearby.
In the Room of Requirement, use a strong character to pull the handle on the far right for the Aberforth Dumbledore character token. Use a Goblin to open the vault for the Hufflepuff Crest piece.
After your first duel, head to the back right corner and use Dark Magic to unlock the chest for the Amycus Carrow character token.
Follow the trail of ghost coins until you reach the courtyard. Head a little to the left and pick up the wand, then hand it to Professor Flitwick. The flowers for Professor McGonagall are slightly to the right of where you found the wand. The character token for McGonagall (Black) will appear once you’ve helped her. Finally, pick the mug up off of the table and hand it to the other professor to move on to the next level.
In this level you’ll need a Regular Wizard, Dark Wizard, Bag Character, Strong Character, Weasley, Parselmouth, Deluminator Character, and Goblin.
After a little animation, you’ll be riding on the Gringotts cart. It’s extremely easy; all you have to do is shoot the five red lights as you ride, so just keep shooting and you’ll hit them. The trip will continue to repeat until you get them all, and then you can turn right at the turn after the corkscrew to move on.
As you start the next area, a dragon is blocking your path. But before you get to fixing that, you can earn the Gryffindor Crest piece by destroying the four shiny rocks with Reducto. They each have to be shot three times before you can get the piece. Be careful getting the last one, though, as the dragon repeatedly shoots fire in that direction. Now use Wingardium Leviosa on the pile of rubble toward the middle of the edge to get a plate for Hermione. Have her use the plate, then go to the left near the dragon and hit the ball with the hammer. Doing so will get you a key to use on the bull that Hermione pulled out of the bag. Place the key into it and wind it up, then ride it to the circle that appears by the dragon to enter the vault.
First, go into the back corners of the vault and use Wingardium Leviosa on the swords on the right, then destroy the cage on the left with Reducto. Put out the flames with Aguamenti, then use Hermione on the plate to release a bird. Use the bird’s feather to make the snake sneeze and you will get some pieces on the ground. Assemble the pieces to get more pieces, and then assemble those to build a Parseltongue wall. A cup will be released; grab it to make a slope to a previously unreachable area, along with the pieces to make a vault. Use Griphook to unlock the vault, which lowers a lamp to use with Ron’s Deluminator. Move the light to the right side corner by the vines, then use Griphook on this vault to get rid of the vines up above. Grab the cup on the table to make the slope easier to climb, then have Hermione go up and use the bag plate to pull out Gryffindor’s sword.
Working from right to left, use Bogrod on the vault to lower the lantern. Next, put out the flames on the bag plate using Aguamenti and have Hermione use it. Use the axe to hit the purple targets, then use Wingardium Leviosa on the chain. Do the same to the chain on the left, then use Bogrod on the next vault to lower the unlit lantern. Go back to the lit one and use Ron to move it to the other using the Deluminator. Use Bogrod to raise the lamp, then use Wingardium Leviosa on the chains to release the dragon.
If you don’t know what you’re doing as you go into the final sequence, you’ll be stuck on it for a while. Harry and Hermione are on the dragon together, and you have to switch between them in order to shoot the goblins. Harry can shoot the lower goblins and controls the dragon, while Hermione shoots the higher ones. You have to shoot five to finish the level. The last one can be tricky, as there is a hidden balcony to the left that you likely won’t be able to see, but a good strategy is to shoot some fire at the guards on the ground until it appears.
In the second area, with the dragon, use Dark Magic on the signal and a cart will appear. Place the Weasley wall to the post and use the Weasley box inside of the cart to reach the Griphook character token.
The vault section of the level has a lot of objects to be destroyed with Dark Magic for collectibles. The music box in the front left corner will give you the Slytherin Crest piece, and the cage across from it will release the Student In Peril. In the back, the chest on the right will give you the character token for Bogrod, while the one on the left (after placing the head on the stand) will give you the character token for Hermione (Gringotts). The last one in the area, the Ravenclaw Crest piece, is obtained by using a strong character to pull the handle in the front right corner, then using the Spectrespecs to build a large head and shooting it with Reducto.
To the left of the dragon in the next area is a box that can be opened by using a strong character. The box will reveal Spectrespecs for you to put on, then go to the right and build the fire. Turn the handle to roast the chicken for the Hufflepuff Crest piece.
Go to the left and use Diffindo on the red wall. Open the package for a Weasley box, then use Ron to open it and get a firework. This will destroy the rocks and leave some pieces behind; assemble them for an Apparition plate, then use it to move on to the next level.
In this level you’ll need a Regular Wizard, Dark Wizard, Animagus, Parselmouth, and Deluminator Character.
Start by putting on the Spectrespecs and building the chest, which has a lock on it. None of the characters have their wands, so you can use one of them to roll into the shelf nearby and knock down the key. The pieces inside of the chest can be assembled into a cauldron to make a potion. Since you’re just making a potion right from the start of the level, you can go ahead and get your collectible out of the way. Use Ron’s Deluminator to transfer the light from the lit lantern to the unlit one a little to the right for a potion ingredient, then take the light back and bring it down to the chest in the lower level to clear away the vines and get the Ollivander character token. Put that ingredient into the cauldron, then start looking for the next ones; one is found by rolling into the barrels in the front left corner of the room and putting the pieces together, and the other by using Pigwidgeon to climb through the tunnel on the left side of the wall. Adding all of the ingredients will reveal a wall that must be unlocked using Parseltongue. Then, assemble the pieces to move on.
And now, you’re forced into a series of duels. Start by dueling either Draco or Narcissa Malfoy, then they will disappear and Bellatrix will send some Death Eaters after you while she shoots from afar. Some of the objects she’ll fling at you can be thrown back, so watch out for them. Each time she loses a heart, Draco and Narcissa show up for another duel. Defeat one of them and make Bellatrix lose another heart, and now Draco and Narcissa are throwing things at you as well. Throw something back at each of them to knock them out and duel Bellatrix for the final round. Right around now is a good time to get a collectible in, so go up to the back right corner and use Wingardium Leviosa on the stack of plates three times for the Slytherin Crest piece. Now duel Bellatrix for your last fight of Year Seven, and you’re done!
Since you didn’t have access to magic in your first run through this level, many of these collectibles are easily found. The Student In Peril can be rescued by using Reducto on the silver chain on the far left, next to the pet tunnel. The Hufflepuff Crest piece is found by shooting the three skeletons found around the room: one on the wall between the pet tunnel and the Spectrespecs, one next to the red brick wall on the far right, and one after dropping down from the previous and walking toward the screen on the right side. Use Diffindo on the red brick wall and build the vehicle to clean up the five water spills– one directly where the vehicle starts, one in the lower area under that, one in between two barrels near the Spectrespecs dispenser, one in front of the pet tunnel, and the last one under the stairs on the left side– for the Gryffindor Crest piece. And, finally, the last collectible of this area isn’t so easy if you’re just playing as a regular wizard– you’ll need a Dark Wizard to unlock the chest down the stairs to the left to get the character token for Wormtail.
Finally, the last two collectibles can be found in the dueling area. Both need a Dark Wizard to unlock, and both are close to each other. Using Dark Magic on the fireplace will give you the character token for Dobby, while doing the same to the object by the fireplace will give you the Ravenclaw Crest piece.
Be aware that since this is the end of Year 7, random Death Eaters may appear in areas such as Diagon Alley and the Leaky Cauldron.
Congratulations, you’ve finished Year Seven: The Deathly Hallows, Part 1!
