Return To Hogwarts

“Return To Hogwarts” is a feature that is unlocked after completing all of the gameplay levels. This gives you a chance to go back through the school grounds and get anything you missed (Gold Bricks, character tokens, etc.). Or, if you just played the levels and didn’t mess around with the other activities around Hogwarts, you can do so now.

The four different types of unlockables that you will find around Hogwarts are character tokens, Gold Bricks, Red Bricks, and Students In Peril. You have encountered three of these through playing the levels, but Red Bricks may be new. If you ever come across a white owl sitting on top of a red stand while exploring Hogwarts, it means a Red Brick can be found in that area. Once you find a Red Brick, carry it to the owl to unlock it. Red Bricks can be purchased in the upstairs room of Eeylops Owl Emporium after being discovered. When you start the game, four Red Bricks are already unlocked: Silhouettes, Ice Rink, Disguise, and Carrot Wands. After purchasing a Red Brick, you can activate it by going to “Extras” in the pause menu.

Gold Bricks are a little bit different as well. In the entire game, there are 200 Gold Bricks to be collected. You’ll earn one for each completed level, completed House Crest, Student In Peril rescued, level completed with True Wizard, lessons completed in Hogwarts, and Gringotts bonus level completed. This totals to 121 Gold Bricks. Twelve more can be purchased in Eeylops Owl Emporium in Diagon Alley, four in the downstairs of the Leaky Cauldron after completing the levels with all unlockables, and two in Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley. The other 61 Gold Bricks are found within various areas of Hogwarts as you explore on your own.

There are a total of 26 Students In Peril, 35 Gold Bricks (for each Student In Peril found, you get one Gold Brick as well), 20 Red Bricks, and 95 character tokens. Finding and purchasing all of these, along with purchasing all of the extra spells in Diagon Alley, will help you get to 100% completion. The locations are in alphabetical order, so you can either look through each location or look through the bolded words to find a specific character or item.

Bathroom Hallway

There is a small object inside of a maze at the top of the stairs. Levitate it through the maze, and once it reaches the end it will turn into a large snail and leave behind a Gold Brick.

Use a Book Character on the bookcase to the left of the girls’ bathroom door. Shoot the case that comes out to get the character token for Hermione (Cat).

Boys’ Bathroom

Go down the stairs and to the right. Tip over the garbage can and use the spraypaint to draw Harry on the wall to reveal the character token for Madam Hooch.

Shoot each of the lockers to the right. Levitate the two shower heads onto the end showers. Have the duck pull the plug to drain the pool, and spin the wheel inside. Shoot the octopus and use the bucket to refill the pool. The Red Brick – Score x8 will be underneath the pink box, in the middle of the four showers.

Shoot the stall on the left and go inside to rescue the Student In Peril.

Charms Classroom Hallway

At the left end of the hallway, there is a student trying to reach something on a shelf. Levitate it down for him to get a Student In Peril.

Charms – Left Room

Rearrange the books on the bookshelf on the balcony to unlock the character token for Boy.

In the underground area, shoot the Student In Peril who is wrapped in a spiderweb to free him.

Destroy the two beige spheres near the dragon’s body, and put its head and arm back on to get the character token for Mad-Eye Moody.

Use a Dark Wizard to destroy the black glowing sphere with Crucio to get the Red Brick – Extra Hearts.

You will be rewarded with a Gold Brick after coming up from this area for the first time.

Charms – Right Room

Shoot all four curved candles to get the character token for Girl.

Destroy the Boggart halfway through the first part of the underground area for the character token of Professor Flitwick.

On the bottom right of this area, use Lumos on the Student In Peril wrapped in vines.

Use Lumos on the vines around each claw for the Gold Brick. Use a Parselmouth to get a black sphere. Have a Dark Wizard destroy it with Crucio to get the Red Brick – Character Token Detector.

Clock Tower

There is a Student In Peril wrapped in a spiderweb right next to the entrance. Shoot him to free him.

The Red Brick – Score x2 can be unlocked by opening the two chests and matching the clock colors to the colors on the pedestals.

Defense Against The Dark Arts Classroom

There should be seven metal objects scattered throughout the room. The first two are being held up by Cornish Pixies. Have a Book Character open the bookcase to get another. Another is the shining wall to the right. Go to the left and use Lumos on the vines, then destroy the skeleton. Levitate the cage off of the owl to the right and destroy the owl. The final one is in the middle of the floor. Destroy all of these objects for the Gold Brick.

Shoot all four blue pieces around the room to get the character token for Parvati Patil.

Use Crucio on the gate near the back for the character token of Ginny Weasley. Go inside for another secret room.

Destroy all four Cornish Pixies in this area for the token for Draco Malfoy. Go down the stairs to the next secret room.

At the end of this area is the token for Professor Quirrell. Killing the Cornish Pixies at the very end will give you the Gold Brick.

In the left Defense Against The Dark Arts room, destroy the sphere in the back of the room with Crucio for the Red Brick – Fast Magic.

Shoot down all of the spiderwebs for the character token for Parvati (Ballgown).

Activate the four torches to unlock Ron (Pyjamas).

Activate the four torches in the other room (the one with the Boggart chests) to unlock Station Guard.

Shoot all three Hogwarts banners in the secret room for Harry (Maze Task).

Shoot all seven lanterns in the secret room for Viktor (Tuxedo).

Destroy all five Boggarts in the secret room to unlock Red Brick – Regenerate Hearts.

There is also a Student In Peril in the secret room, covered in a spider web on the second floor.

Divination Classroom

Use Griphook to open the vault in the back of the room for the character token for Professor Trelawney.

Right next to the vault, use Dark Magic on the chest for the Hermione (Blue Top) character token.

Great Hall

There are six green goblets you must shoot to earn the Gold Brick: five on the long tables as you walk in, and one on the table in the back of the room.

Along the left side, a student is trapped in a spider web. Shoot him to earn the Student In Peril.

At the left side of the table in the back, shoot the pile of bricks and then the turkey to get the Red Brick – Character Studs.

On the left side of the back table, use Reducto on the plate for the Molly Weasley character token.

As with the previous one, use Reducto on the plate on the right side of the back table for the Colin Creevey character token.

Great Hall Entrance

After cleaning off the painting and dishes before starting the level Crabbe and Goyle, the character token for Harry (Blue Shirt) is available at the bottom of the stairs.

Grand Staircase

Use the candle on the left side of the entrance to Dumbledore’s office to light the candle on the right and earn the token for Professor Binns.

At the top of the stairs, past Dumbledore’s office, is a Student In Peril trapped in a spiderweb.

Gryffindor Common Room

The token for Gryffindor Boy is behind the couch.

The Student In Peril is sleeping on the couch on the left side of the room. Shoot him and he’ll fall into the couch and be spit back out in a knot. Shoot him again to save him.

Gryffindor Dorms

Shoot the staircase near the doorway to unlock the token for Ron (Hogwarts).

Hagrid’s Garden

On the right side of the garden, use Reducto on the Boggart chest and then use Expecto Patronum on the Dementor for the character token for the Amos Diggory character token.

Use Wingardium Leviosa on the three sets of mushrooms (one in each corner closest to the screen and one in the back right corner) for the Ron (Brown Jacket) character token.

Activate the basket using Wingardium Leviosa, then shoot and activate the pumpkin for the Student In Peril.

Hagrid’s Garden (Time Turner)

In the back right corner, dig up the spot for the Petunia Dursley token.

Shoot the pumpkin that the student is trapped under for the Student In Peril.

Use Wingardium Leviosa to move the scarecrow’s head, then dig up all the spots and destroy the pumpkins. Use Hagrid to pull the strength chain, then assemble the pieces and use Wingardium Leviosa again for a Gold Brick.

Use Reducto on the lock on the left side and shoot the ax for the Gilderoy Lockhart (Green Jacket) character token.

Herbology Greenhouse

Outside of the greenhouse, use Reducto on the chest for the Fleur Delacour character token.

In the back greenhouse, get rid of the Boggart on the upper level for the Drummer character token.

In the back greenhouse, put on the earplugs in the closet and use the Mandrake to shatter five glass tanks for the Professor Sprout character token.

In the right greenhouse, pull the chain with a strong character to release the Student In Peril.

In the right greenhouse, go down to the small room with the cauldron and put on the earplugs. Assemble the ramp and pick up each of the Mandrakes (on the left, on the right, and in the room where the Student In Peril was) and pot them for the Red Brick – Singing Mandrake. 

Inner Classroom Hallway

Chase the student holding the character token, then use Wingardium Leviosa on the lid to earn the Gryffindor Girl character token.

Use Wingardium Leviosa on the eight torches on the walls for the Hannah Abbott character token.

Shoot the three golden statues on the upstairs level with Reducto for the Lee Jordan character token.

Use Dark Magic on the cabinet on the upstairs level for the Millicent Bulstrode character token.

Near the Defense Against the Dark Arts room, assemble the pieces into an H on the wall, then use Reducto and have a pet to crawl through the tunnel for a Gold Brick.

Go into the closet to put on earplugs and use the Mandrake to shatter three glass tanks for the Ernie Macmillan character token.

The Lake

Shoot the mole each time it comes out of the ground. When it appears for the last time near the gate, the character token for Bassist should be revealed.

Destroy the blocks and use the pieces to build a dock to save the Student In Peril.

After saving the Student, the character token for Ron (Tuxedo) will appear at the end of the dock.

Levitate the fishing pole and build the frogs. After they hop into the water, climb on one and swim through the checkpoints. There should be a Gold Brick at the end of the final checkpoint.

The Library

Destroy the lock on the gate using Reducto and build a radio. Shoot it to make four skeletons come out and dance, revealing the character token for Ravenclaw Girl.

Shoot the curtain, light the torches, and have the one on the end blow fire into the painting. The man will run into the other painting, and you can now jump on top of the flower and have another character levitate you up to reach the character token for Susan Bones.

Main Courtyard

Shoot the bullies to free the Student In Peril.

Go into the closet on the left side and put on the earplugs. Smash the four glass tanks lying around with the Mandrake for the Hufflepuff Boy character token.

Use Reducto on the suits of armor and assemble the pieces for the Red Brick – Collect Ghost Studs.

Destroy the final suit of armor after collecting the Red Brick, then use the plunger on each of the puddles for the Ravenclaw Prefect character token.

Use Dark Magic on the set of armor and use the broom to collect studs for the Gold Brick.

Muggle Studies Room

Build up the three desks to make stairs. Shoot the object at the top, and a bunny will go run on one of the wheels. Jump down and shoot the painting to the left, which should give you a letter. Put it into the mailbox to open it and have another bunny run on a wheel. Shoot the three buttons on the TV to the right, then shoot the bunny that appears on the screen. The car should levitate to reveal the Gold Brick.

Shoot the computer, causing a token to appear on the screen. Shoot it again to make the token for Dudley Dursley appear before you.

Shoot the figurine on the table, then shoot the next two to get the token for Mr. Mason.

Shoot the vacuum near the table for Mrs. Mason.

Shoot the printer for the Red Brick – Score x6.

Outer Classroom Hallway

To unlock the character token for Doris Crockford, activate the nine torches– six are in the outer classroom hallway, and the final three can be found by going up the stairs and in the door on the right. (The final torch has a lock on it that needs to be destroyed with Reducto.)

Flip over the three panels in the area leading outside through the top-right door for the character token for Madam Pince.

Shoot the bookcase and levitate the books into stairs. Climb up to get the Student In Peril down.

Outer Grounds

Clear the vines from the barrier on the ground, put the pieces together, and use the broom to clean it off. Retrieve the other two barriers from the ground and clean them off as well to get the Gold Brick.

Put together the cloud a little further down the path and levitate the cloud to make four sets of flowers grow. Levitate the flowers to make them disappear and get the Red Brick – Fast Dig.

Lift all four carrots out of the ground to get the token for Percy Weasley.

There is also a Student In Peril in this area, on the right path heading toward Hagrid’s hut. Shoot the Devil’s Snare to get him out.

Get rid of the Cornish Pixies holding the firework and use the flying pumpkin to reach the character token for Ginny (Cardigan).

Use Reducto on the lock on another firework and use the flying pumpkin to reach the character token for Cedric (Lake Task).

Have a Dark Wizard use Crucio to set off the three rockets near the entrance of the area, then use the flying pumpkin to reach the character token for Viktor Krum.

Outer Herbology Classroom

Shoot the flowerpot by the wardrobe, then climb onto the pot and the wardrobe to reach the Gold Brick.

Owlery Courtyard

Kill the two Cornish Pixies to the left and open the box to get some blocks. Stack them up to reach the character token for Hufflepuff Prefect.

Have a Dark Wizard use Crucio on the black box to the right to get a watering can. Use it to grow a flower, then have another character activate it to propel you into the air and reach the character token for Slytherin Prefect.

Shoot all ten torches surrounding the area to get the character token for Angelina Johnson.

Kill the Boggart to get the key to unlock the entrance to the owlery.

Owlery

Levitate the board to make stairs up to the character token for Hermione (Grey Hooded Top).

Go over to the two owls holding a scroll. When you approach, a Student In Peril will fall out.

Stay ont he board and levitate the egg through the maze. Shoot the egg to get another owl, then levitate the box to the left to put food in the center stand. Go up the stairs and put together the pieces on the ground, then stand on it to go to the top floor.

Levitate the feather to the painting to make the wall explode. Put together the pieces for a Gold Brick.

Levitate a record from the far right shelf onto the speaker, then shoot it to put it back. Destroy the silver box in the right corner and levitate that record onto it, then put it back and levitate the final record onto the speaker for the character token for Cho Chang.

Owlery – Time Turner

Unlock the chest in front of you and put together the pieces. Clean up the five spots on the ground to get the character token for Barty Crouch Sr.

Shoot the student inside of the center stand for a Student In Peril.

Match the three packages to their correct colors for a Gold Brick.

Shoot the painting with the owl on it to be able to go upstairs.

Levitate the wheel onto the film reel to show a projection of a Red Brick. Levitate it off of the wall to get the Red Brick – Gold Brick Detector.

Shoot the plant to make the painting sneeze and have the wall explode again. Put together the pieces to make another speaker and get the character token for Hermione (Hogwarts).

Potions Classroom

The character token for Justin Finch-Fletchley becomes automatically unlocked after brewing the Polyjuice Potion in Year Two.

Potions – Secret Room

Destroy the lock around the box with Reducto to find a cauldron filled with Polyjuice Potion. Use it to switch to a Hufflepuff character, then wave at the painting to get a key. Use a Book Character to open the bookcase and get a second key. Use Wingardium Leviosa on the statues to build a vault. Use the Polyjuice Potion to switch to Griphook and unlock the vault to get the last key. Build the blocks into stairs and go to the left and open the chest with Reducto for the character token for Professor Snape.

Climb to the right for the Red Brick – Score x10.

Use the Polyjuice Potion to switch to an older character (for example, I used Madam Hooch) and cross the Aging Potion line that surrounds the Gold Brick.

Quidditch Arena Entrance

Raise all four Slytherin flags to get the character token for Padma Patil.

Raise all five Gryffindor flags for the character token for Katie Bell.

Levitate the four objects surrounding the popcorn stand to the right for the character token for Ravenclaw Boy.

Jump on the bench to the right of the tent entrance and have someone levitate you up. Levitate the red ball onto the track to get the Gold Brick.

Levitate the scroll on the left to get the Student In Peril down.

Quidditch Arena Entrance – Time Turner

Use a Digging Character on the spot near the cauldron and put the pieces together to make a stand. Levitate the paper onto it and flip the pages to get the Gold Brick.

Use Reducto on the lock on the chest to the left of the tent entrance and open the chest for a Student In Peril.

Use the chisel on the block of ice to the right for the Red Brick – Stud Magnet.

After putting together the cloud, levitate the flowers into the popcorn stand for the character token for George (Quidditch).

Quidditch Training Area

Dig up the five spots around the field for the Harry (Quidditch) character token.

Use Reducto on the chest and fly through the rings for a Gold Brick and the Viktor (Dragon Task) character token.

Ravenclaw Common Room

Shoot the box on the balcony to get the character token for Gabrielle Delacour.

Spread out the black pieces in the middle of the room. Levitate the circular pieces to the front, then shoot it to turn it into a bird and have it drop the Red Brick – Hogwarts Crest Detector.

Shoot the five yellow books between this room and the Ravenclaw Dorm room to get a Gold Brick.

Ravenclaw Dorms

Shoot the bed on the left to make the character token for Padma (Ballgown) appear.

Shoot the chain near the student in the middle of the room to bind the book and receive a Student In Peril.

Ravenclaw Entrance

When you first enter this area, use Reducto on the gate to the left and put together the pieces. A telescope will be built, and the character token for Penelope Clearwater will appear in front of it.

The Restricted Section

Have another character levitate you up from the book. Shoot the hat on the corner of the banister, and shoot the ghost to make him leave. Go inside of the closet and put on earmuffs. Climb down and kill the two Cornish Pixies to get another hat to shoot. Levitate the red book on the ground under the balcony, then have a Digging Character dig the piece on the ground and make a ladder. Climb up and shoot the hat on the shelf for the Gold Brick.

On the left balcony, destroy the object on the bookshelf with Crucio. Fight the spider, Dementor, and bee to get the character token for Wizard (Red).

Have a Book Character open the bookcase and put the pieces together for a book cart. Jump onto it and ride over all five books to get the character token for Alicia Spinnet.

Put the three books back on the shelf at the right end of the area to get the Red Brick – Red Brick Detector.

Climb up to the left balcony and put on earmuffs. Pot the Mandrake on the right balcony to save the Student In Peril.

Right Courtyard

To get past this area, there is a chain you must pull at the end. Either shoot each grouping of bushes to get the ingredients for the Strength Potion, or switch to a Strong Character to pull the chain. Once pulled, some gold rings will appear in the air that you have to use a broom to fly through. After doing so, the character token for Oliver Wood will appear in the air.

Slytherin Common Room

Turn on all five green lanterns for the character token for Slytherin Girl.

Hit the painting near the entrance to the area for a suitcase. Shoot it for the character token for Slytherin Boy.

Put the record player and speaker together and levitate the record to it to start the music.

Slytherin Dorms

The Red Brick – Score x4 is near a curtain to the right.

Shoot the bookcase to make it fall out of the way and release the Student In Peril.

Turn on the radio behind the curtain of the third bed and open the box at the end of the second bed to make some students go into the hot tub. A Gold Brick will appear between them.

Slytherin Entrance

Blow the locks off of all four manhole covers and put the pieces together to make a chain. Use a Strong Character to pull the two chains to make the character token for Rita Skeeter appear.

Transfiguration – Back Classroom

After completing the Transfiguration in the front room, blow the lock off the door using Reducto and head to the back room. Finish the lesson here for the character token for Professor McGonagall and a Gold Brick.

Behind the chalkboard is the character token for Fred Weasley.
